Ceramic filters have a microporous layer with embedded silver, which delays bacterial growth. The pore size of all Katadyn ceramic filters is 0.2 microns (0.0002 mm). Bacteria range in size from 0.2 to 5 microns and can therefore be filtered out efficiently, as can protozoa (1 to 15 microns). Ceramic filter elements can be cleaned. Your filter capacity is measurable.
